Help lost thumbnail slider tool bar

I have 2 identical Mac's running the same versions of lightroom 5 and the same version operating system. As you can see the thumbnail slider is on one monitor but not the other. As far as I can see all settings on the screen are the same what am I missing?

Don't you have to have the thumbnails visible for the slider to be there? In the second photo it shows the thumbnails view as closed.

I don't have 5 but you might try typing filmstrip in the help box. in 3 you hit F6 to show the film strip. I'm not sure what you do in 5 but the help might show you

The problem is none of the items from the tool bar are visible.
The two images are from two different Mac's.

There is not a f6 on a Mac keyboard .

My Mac keyboard runs F1 through F12. Take a closer look.

Both my macs have F1 through F12. use help at the top in lightroom. its call a filmstrip

I have the film strip. I don'y have the tool bar right above it. It contains the spray can, color ratings ,stars etc.

at the top try clicking on view, then show tool bar or just press the T key
