I have been using PhotoPaint (built into Corel Draw and then versions of PaintShop Pro since the 90's. They are all a lot better than I am capable of pushing them. And a lot cheaper than PhotoShop. I do have LR5 and PSE12 also. If linda has the tutorials they should be good, most of their stuff is.

Yes, some will say get Photoshop as a monthly fee, I just don't like renting software, I want it on disk to reload in emergencies and keep using even if I have to save money and stop paying the monthly rental. Besides for the same amount of money per month I can get 4 or 5 photo magazines on my Nook HD+ and still continue using X6 which is totally paid for.

OPPS!!! I just went to Lynda and watched the free introduction, it is for Paint Shop Pro X (roman numeral for 10) You have the current version X6. Lynda is out of date. Try Corel's own site they have 4 different levels of tutorials on line at 19.99 each, from basics to 301(they number them like college classes).

Yea thank you anyway, called them and they said the same. It's a shame everything is Photoshop these days LOL. I'll do some more research, thanks for your help. Mark

Welcome to the UHH Mark. I am a long time user of Paint Shop Pro. Started when it was Version 7 and JASC. I have ran almost every version since Corel bought out JASC. I presently run PSP Pro X6 Ultimate with several plugins. May I suggest a book I picked up at Barnes and Noble titled "Picture Yourself Learning Corel Paintshop Pro X6" by Diane Koers. It's a little expensive at $35 but I think it is well worth the money. Most everything you need to know. If you have questions, you can always post here on the hog. You will find several hoggers using PSP and we don't mind answering some questions. PSP is pretty intuitive and you shouldn't have too much problem learning the basics. It really is an awesome program for the price. Good luck and have a GREAT DAY!

Hmmmm! I have a gift card for Barnes and Noble with $46 left on it, have to drop by and look at the book. Or maybe they have it on Nook?

opened another window and checked it is now $20.99 in paper back, but $24.99 on Nook.
