Macro question

hello to all of the macro photographers. I just got a wide angle macro lens attachment. I am not sure which lens I should attach it to to get great macro shots. I am inclined to start with my 55-200 as that is the largest lens that I own that it will fit on, but I am also considering trying my 35mm prime lens for some flower shots. Any tips and advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you in advance.

Please be more specific about your "wide angle macro lens attachment". What is the nomenclature on lens?

It is a Vivitar HD4 MC AF 0.43x wide angle converter with macro. Just got it for my birthday this evening and I have not had a chance to even put it on my camera. I shoot with a Nikon D3300.

I suspect that you will find limitations with this 'add-on' lens, designed to inexpensively convert a normal camera lens to near-macro capability. It is really designed for someone who occasionally wants to play a bit with close-up photography, without buying a true macro lens.

I am excited to get out and play with my converter. Do you have any tips for me. I am not sure what I am going to shoot yet, but most likely I will be shooting bugs and flowers.

Ok, this made me go look in my camera bag. I apparently have this same lens. However, I don't think it's even been on my camera so I can't tell you much. Thanks to the above link for the review, I found out this lens has two parts....who knew?!?

I will play around with it some when I get the chance, to see if I can be of any help.
What got me started/hooked, was attaching a Raynox 'add-on' lens to the end of my 70-300. That's all it took for me to seek a "true" macro lens.
I suspect you will enjoy this lens for what it is and hopefully, wet your appetite for some real macro.

Have fun

Bill. Do you know if it's possible to attach your Raynox M-150 'add-on' lens2 to a Nikon 105mm micro lens?

When I want more than 1:1 magnification, I attach my Raynox M-150 onto my Nikkor 105G macro lens.

You can make it work on a regular zoom lens but, it's a gazillion times better on a true macro lens like the one you mentioned.
I also have the 250, it can be a challenge to use because of the higher magnification.
