Bangee5, At a personal level, whatever your attitude or point of view is about is obesity is your right. I could believe, in response to your self disclosure that you may struggle to make changes in your physical being. However, when we are talking about larger identifiable groups and populations with obesity or diabetes, etc., then you have to decide if you want to be involved or just sit in your own living room and watch. The fact that you have spent the time and energy to write on this blog suggests you have some modicum of energy to focus on the larger world and be involved other than just be a grumpy curmudgeon.

Get involved in what? Telling other people how to live their life. Either do it my way or I will call you a bad person? OK, here is what I want you to do for me. Stand with me to deregulate the Coal and Oil Industries. De-fund Climate Control. Get rid of the EPA and take back control from the FDA. Vote Republican and vote often. And help us impeach that ass-hole in the White House. Do this for me and I will get involved in your little food program. I might even go on a diet.
Lets get real guys, it has been fun but this is the most silly thread I have gotten myself involve in and I have had enough. See ya' later.

Before you go, could you please tell me where the line starts. It would be great to stand with you, I just hope you don't mind if I bring my chair. My spring chicken sprung the coop a while back. SeeYa.
clanmack...I appreciate your concern. As I was growing up, however, I had required physical education in both jr. hi. and h.s. three times a week, even when I was involved in athletics. I was never a soda drinker, but ate eggs, sausage and toast for breakfast every morning, a good bag lunch, and a filling dinner. Neither my father (who was a coach) nor I had to worry about our weight because of our activity. In the summer I was heavily involved in baseball. Today, physical education has been de-emphasized, and if you're in a sport you're excused from it. The only real way to overcome the obesity problem in our youth is through sustained aerobic activity.

Thanks for the thought but I'm going to find that damn chicken and make it pull a wheel chair for me, ungrateful egg laying SOC (son of a chicken) that it is. After all I did for it back in my youth you'd think there could be a little higher regard for me now. SeeYa.
