I have a hard time accepting the aerodynamics of this critter! Bent wings, bulbous nose: looks more like a cartoon than a real fly.

Nice shooting Tom. It is an odd shaped fly. With the odd gas mask mouth, I imagine it as a steampunk fighter plane.

Really nice series !!! I found mine on a leaf inside the branches of a tree. Wish mine had been more accommodating & landed where I could have gotten better angles of it. Maybe next time...
