It was a long shot and the light faded about the time they were close enough. I took what I could get. Whales often feed in this area and don't seem to mind the boats.

Lovely set of images.
No.1 looks as though they are "shooting a broadside". :wink:

That "splash" is a whale spouting. There are two ships in port now as the Hawaiian Chieftian got a couple of days ago. Today they will Battle Sail, canons at ready...

Yes from your original comments about whales I knew what the splash was.

Should the above read "Cannons at the ready" or are we back into the Canon / Nikon debate.
