The Palouse area of Washington is major dryland farming area for wheat production.
This time of year the fields are just greening up and make a wonderful photography object.

Beautiful shots! The hills look like waves, and the shadows add to them.

Really terrific images!

I still haven't been over there, and have lived in Yakima for nearly 12 years :)

Thank you Wanda.
We may have been a couple of weeks early, as the wheat was just starting to come up. It will look like green velvet pretty soon.

And then in August there will be fields of gold!

Thank you Jerry.
For best shadows you need to be there early am and of course late pm.

Linda, get going! It's closer for you than it is for us.
Next couple of weeks will be prime photography time, as the wheat will be higher. Also, August is great for waves of gold.

Amazing photos and geography. I bet it's more fun planting and harvesting here than a boring flat field.

OMG, you should see the machinery they use to work those hills, huge monsters!
