Some more backyard flowers

Taken with my Sigma 70-300 APO DG Macro mounted on my Canon 550D.
The images are not cropped but straight out of the camera. No PP of any kind. They look a little soft to me but I think some of that is the pure white petals may be somewhat over exposed. I am going to see if I can improve them with some careful PP.

As I suggested to someone yesterday, in Elements or Photoshop, select the Shadow/Highlight tool. Put the shadow slider back all the way to the left where it belongs for these images. Now run the Highlight slider to the right and watch the detail in the white flowers improve greatly.

These are nice images!

Yes, they do seem a bit overexposed. I find that I have to give white flowers a stop or two less exposure than the my Canon 3ti calls for.

But your peonies are lovely. You are a bit ahead of my garden here on the coast of Massachusetts. My peonies are still tight buds.

Try using a polarizing filter or a translucent white umbrella for shade.

Thank you. I will try your suggestion. I'm sure it will improve the images.

Thank you for your kind comments. Yes, everything seems to be 2-3 weeks later than most years, here.
