I got a phone call telling me that my Tamron 150-600mm is being shipped tomorrow from Adorama. It is amazing, I had heard that the boat from Japan had got sunk in a storm.

I wish it had come last week before I went down to Forsythe. Oh well, it just gave me an excuse to go again.

Canon, ordered Jan. 29th. If you are waiting on a Nikon you probably have a 2 or 3 month wait still. I have only waited 3 1/2 months. I figure they should have any issues worked out by now. I am going to find out!! My salesman knows I won't hesitate to send it back!

Check with your vendor, there have been several posts of people getting their Nikon lenses. I know that our local camera store got the Nikon in last week, but not the Canon.

Got my Nikon version Monday from B&H unfortunately I have been sick so did not take many pics yet. I own the older version so comparing it to that one the autofocus is much improved and ofcourse vc helps too:-)

Focus calibrate the lens to the body and use good stabilisation/sharpness techniques when shooting - and yes, I know it has VC - but would not absolutely trust it .

Here is one with the Big T on a nikon d800.
f/6.3,1/1250,ISO 400, on a tripod mirror lockup and cable release. Still not very sharp.
Any help would be appreciated

600mm and f6.3 is not the best receipe for this lens - also, are you using a "protective" filter on the front ?? - Have you done a focus cal ? With the D800, you may find that shooting 450-500mm and cropping is better for you.

What f stop do you recommend with 600? Yes I have a UV filter on. It is coming off. I really want this lens to work! Will calibrate this afternoon. Do you think using the dx crop would work better with this lens and camera?
