This was the inside of an old barbera shop. They had some nice ornate barber chairs. Just don't make them like that anymore.

Wow! No adjustments on those chairs.

Hot bath 25 cents. I wonder if they changed the water between bathers?

I remember seeing an old sign like that, and it was cheaper if you didn't want clean water.
Hey, neat photos!
Wonder how old the chairs are?

I wonder how many bathers it would take to turn the water to mud.
Hi Jerry, definately "old school" barbering.

Hi banjonut, probably not for the basic 25 cent wash plan. Without modern water heaters, emptying the tub and filling it back up with clean, warm water would take a little extra effort that I'm sure they'd want to be compensated for.

I think I remember seeing the same sign somewhere also.

I'd guess somewhere from the late 1800s to early 1900s, but that just a guess.

Probably depended on the clientele, but probably not too long.

Great shot Mark, brought back some painful memories seeing that old razor strop hanging on the wall and remembering being whupped with one just like it if I ever got caught doing anything that I shouldn't have.

Nice photo mark. Where did you ever find a barber shop like that?, Great. Reminds me of an old childhood poem. " Shave and a haircut, two bits, who's the barber Tom Mix, Who's his wife, Alice Fay, how's the baby, OK.":P :P :P

Those chairs must have really looked beautiful when new. Nice shot a glimpse into days gone by.
