Greetings from Singers Glen, VA
Hello, I've been on UHH for about a month now. I'm a disabled and frustrated photographer. I can only take photos from my golf car, wheel chair, from the car, or from inside the house. My husband recently purchased a dslr which I'm just learning to use. I'd like to take bird photos but I find that very difficult and may have to give up on that. I'm attaching a photo of a titmouse taken from inside the house. As you can see, I have a lot to learn or give up on.
I like your bird. Your going to have to find birds that aren't so skitish. When you find them let me know. Birds are hard to do but hang around and you'll get some tips. when you see something that you like, don't be afraid to ask questions. We have quite a few that like to shoot birds. I'm in deep south Texas and during the migrations we get lots of different kinds of birds that stop over at our numerous reservers. We have what is called The bird Watchers Capital of the World. I don't know if it's that good but it's pretty darn good.
Oh ya, just about forgot - welcome to the Hog
Welcome to the group.
Dont give up. Cars make great bird blinds (as long as your husband doesnt mind hanging out while you shoot) You can get a car window clamp mount that will work like a tripod.
ALWAYS more than one way to skin a cat!!
Have fun learning that new camera.

Welcome to UHH & don't give up. Learning something new is always a learning curve & you will get it.
And, you can shoot from a car, I often find things to shoot while driving & stop & use my window for a tripod, a friend told me about this trick, didn't know about the clamp but will investigate this. :)
Lots of talented & helpful photographers on this site, I am learning from them, so hang in there!

Thank you, Tramsey. I was lucky to get the Titmouse because they are so skittish but it's one of the most common birds that come to our feeders.

Thank you, Rocco! I'll have to look into a car window clamp mount.

Thanks for your words of encouragement, Pam!
hey glad you are on here, I to am disabled and in a wheelchair, yes it does get frustrating sometime but hang in there, one thing i had to do is get a longer lens to help me get some of the shots i want, sometimes it is still not long enough, but don't give up.

Welcome to UHH. There are so many people here with lots of knowledge and great ideas. They will help you with any questions you may have. Some of the best shots I've seen have been from around the house or in someone's backyard. Keep shooting.
Welcome aboard. There is nothing wrong with you behind the camera, your shot looks very nice. You would be surprised how many of us have a disability and have learned to play and work and around it.

Welcome to UHH. Nice shot of a titmouse. This bird just doesn't like to stay still for long. My hands shake so I use a sturdy tripod and a remote control to take pictures when I don't have something to brace my camera. I look for places the birds prefer to land and point the camera there and just wait for them to land-then hit the remote. Many times I set the camera to take a sequence of photos to assure I get a decent shot.

Welcome to UHH. Even the most experienced (of which I am not in the photograpy field) are still in a learing process. I have limited mobility and strive to do the best I can.
I think your bird shot shows a lot of potential.

Thank you, Norman. I have a 55-300 lens and that is all I'm going to afford for now. I imagine a lot of money can be sunk into lenses and I'd have to balance the cost with the value gained.
