Would like some information on the Canon G15. The SX50 has taken the front position so curious about some of the others. Thanks for the advice. Bee

Bee, you should really look at the Nikon P-600. if it's a long focal point your after the P-600 has a range up to 1440mm, plus the glass that nikon is so well known for and is just a great little camera that will get the job done........................just saying.....

That is an interesting comparison. The 15 is higher from Canon sales, but cheaper with Amazon. Thanks Bee

I got a G9 several years ago, and have never regretted doing so ..... G15 can only be better. Only quibble I have with the G9 is the parallax between the optical viewer and the picture that gets taken...

The one did explain the lack of zoom in the 15 which was the one item I was concerned about. They are almost our neighbors being from the coast. I had missed the original posting. Sure glad you keep up with every thing. Thanks Bee

A few times I missed the articulating screen of the G12 over the G15. Did wish both had more zoom. The G15's low light photos are awesome. Len does scratch very easy on both and not sure how it even got scratched on the G15 unless it was vibration with it being facedown in the tank bag on my bike. Even though it has a protector that closes when turning off the camera. Just gotta have a view finder on my cameras.
The G15 is also the fastest camera I have in that size. Others are G12 < just gave it to my grandson; Minolta Dimage Z6 < still love that old camera. And of course the Galaxy 3 phone which to me, will never take the place of my cameras, but is in my pocket more. Then there is my Sony A57 hardly ever being used with it Sonysal 18/250 lens.

I've had a G1, G9, and G15 and love them all. I also have an SX30 IS (like SX50) which I hate.

I really appreciate all the information that I have received. I will play with the 15, but still waiting for the SX60 as the 50 has very few problems. Thanks everyone. Bee

Bee, I have the SX50, an A1400, and the G16. I used to carry the A1400 with me all the time, because it is very small and has a view finder. I grew tired of the limitations of the camera, and got the G16.

The G16 is basically a minor update of the G15. It does use the DIGIC 6 processor, but not much has changed over the G15. They are both somewhat larger than the typical pocket compact p&s camera, but in my opinion, their enhanced capabilities far out-weigh the larger size.

I now carry the G16 with me everywhere. I use a belt pouch, which I'm sure makes me look like even more of a geek, but who cares ;) The G16 is a great camera, and I love using it.

I still use my SX50, but because of its size, I only take it out when I know I will need the ultra zoom it provides.
