Humph, I paid a guy for exclusive rights to photograph the moon and now you have taken this photo!!! Humm, wonder if my exclusive photo-rights to the Brooklyn bridge is real, bought it from the same guy.
Indeed it is fantastic what we can do with our modern equipment vs what would have required a telescope in film days. Kudos on your adventure shot.
If you super overexpose the crescent moon, you will see that the dark part of the moon has a glow from light reflected from the earth vs the light part which is sun illuminated.
Lovely shot, nice contrast and detail of the lunar surface.

Many thanks to all who replied, however I was surprised that nobody mentioned that large coffin shaped plateau in the center right of the photo. I would like to know the name of it so I can more research. REJ
