I have a Sigma 170-500mm f5.6-6.3 APO DG lens that I really have never used and find it cumbersome to use. I think it probably would like a home that will both appreciate and use it. Basically the lens is like new with a circular polarizer filter. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks

Spell out all the details so there is no confusion for the buyer:
Price
Forms of payment accepted
Shipping cost/method/locations shipped to
Handling time
Take detailed photos of the lens, including front and back elements and any potential issues with the lens.
Look at typical eBay listings as a guide, especially listings posted by experienced lens & camera sellers who know what they are doing - how they describe the item, how they photograph it, and what prices particular lenses go for.

How do you know it's cumbersome to use if you have never used it? Just wonderin.
For price check out eBay - just type in lens brand and specs and see if similar lens if for sale There will probably be a range for both new and used.
Best to check the "sold" items. That gives a truer value.
Cannot get it to focus as well as I think it should. Probably my ineptness but don't know what else to do

I'd place an ad on Craiglist or eBay before posting stuff for sale here on UHH. First off, I've never had any luck selling anything here on UHH, and second, new members aren't trusted much here because other members feel that they don't know the newby well enough to send them money. On Craiglist you deal directly with the buyer and on eBay there is protection against fraudulent buyers and sellers. Here on UHH there's only a persons word that they will be honest and no recourse if something goes wrong.

Sigam sells it around 900 I think. But they also have a remount service. I do not know if this lens is eligible, but if the price + the remount cost is right it could stillwork for you.
