Do mirrorless cameras have as good a quality as Good SLR's and is the viewfinder better than EVF cameras?

Yes, they are, BUT there are limitations. Also, the EVFs do vary. The very best one, from head to toe, is the Oly EM-1. The new Fujifilm is also excellent. It has exceptional image quality.
The Oly does everything well, and has an articulating touchscreen for awesome candid street photography.
Yes, some mirrorless cameras are as good, or better, than some DSLS, EVF notwithstanding.

Consider this: Sony makes a mirrorless FF camera with 36 MP.
Also, if you're talking micro four thirds by saying mirrorless, M4/3 is only half the size of DX/APS-C, which is half the size of FF.

An EVF shows you exactly what the sensor sees, whereas an OVF viewfinder shows you something sorta like what the lens sees, maybe even with a split circle in the middle to obscure your subject. Of course I'm a viewfinder hater completely, so to me neither one is better.

Agreed! They have finally come of age, and folks are definitely taking notice. I'm guessing this is not lost on the big 2, and that they have a bevy of new mirrorless offerings in the process of becoming reality.

I would think probably not. I think the Big 2 are going to further develop the full-frame DSLR market, with maybe an APS-C offering in the mirrorless one. I would think the other APS-C and mu4/3 will be left up to those who "own" it now, and will probably only continue to get better at it. If the noise could be brought down a tad more in the mu4/3, and the EVF tuned up even more, you'd have THE perfect smaller camera system (and maybe it's pretty close already!). :D ;-)

do mirrorless cameras have the 4gb (or 30min) video file limitations of previous DSLRs?

I finally talked myself in to getting one. I have 4 camera's now but I have heard so much about the 4/3. For starters I bought the Olympus OMD E-M10. I read a lot about them and I am not disappointed. The image quality is near my 70D and easy to use. If I really get into it I will probably go for a higher end one, but this is a fun camera.

I won't buy any without a viewfinder. Thanks for all your help and comments.

Enjoy the E-M10, but the 70D will have a cleaner low light image and will be a more capable action/sports shooter. That E-M10 defies logic, though, with how good it's pictures are. Enjoy it! :D

I'm acting as a second shooter for two weddings this fall. The main photog uses a 5d3.

Your E-M1 with the 75mm will will be a scene-stealer. You'll get some great stealth shots!

I thought there was a hack for the panasonic GH models that worked around this.

That and along with the 7.5 to get the whole scene. I was only supposed to do the one, but she asked me to help out with the second one last week. I guess my second shooter rates are too cheap to pass up.
