What do you want to use it for and what do you mean by easy.

Any number of point and shoots by numerous manufacturers are excellent. Some with interchangeable lens are sort of in betweens. ALL are under $1,000. Good ones at $500

Buying a DSLR just to take "pictures" is a waste of money and a source of great disappointment.

For entry DSLR there is the Canon T3i at about $900 and the Canon D60 at a couple hundred more. Both can be bought with kit lens or body only.

Also Nikon and others are great .. just depends on your taste in flavors.

Suggest you drop in a local camera store or start a research program on line with google.

Good luck and hope you enjoy using whatever you get as much as I and so many do,

ed

I also just purchased a T3i after doing MUCH research... takes a little practice getting used to the articulating screen, but boy is it handy. Has most of the features the big boys do... it's just not built to do 80 weddings a year. DON'T get a kit... buy the body only and get a better lens. I get lots of flak for this, but I've found Tamron's to be great.... I've used an 18-270 for my main lens for more than 500 weddings. Just bought my third one, plus a 60mm 2.0 macro for a quick portrait lens (also Tamron) that I can pull out one-handed from a side pack. Didn't hurt that there's now a total of $250 rebate on the pair! Good luck!

If you go to popphoto.com and check on their home page they have a buying guide for cameras, lenses and accesories. You can read the product reviews make a list of possibilities then visit a local camera store and hadnel every camera you are interested in. Also if you spend time in your local camera store please make your purchase there. Undoubtatley whatever you choose you will find cheaper on the internet, but by supporting your local store you insure someone will be around to answer yourr questions.

Agree completely with body only .. Tamron is good, as is Sigma and the Canons, too. I used the T2i until the 5D.

Do suggest all lens purchases should be EF so can use on full frame should you want o change.

Glad the T3i is working for you in weddings, they are tough .. on both sides of the lens ;-)..

I have the Canon T3 ... (no i), and its working out very nicely for me. It comes with an 18-55mm IS lens, and I added a 55-250mm IS telephoto. Total cost including a carry bag, 4gb card, charger, and battery ... $800.

I would get a Panasonic G85 with its 12-60 kit kens. It’s a relatively light Mirrorless camera. The evf is really great, there’s no way I’d be able to go back to optical viewfinders after using electronic ones. The lens system it uses is really great and allows for a lot of expansion. And don’t get scared off because of the smaller sensor, it still does pretty well in low light. The kit lens is actually really good quality, and it provides a really good range for things like portraits. It goes up for about $999 at most stores. I am very happy with mine

For a body, only, under $1000.00, the Sony A6300 fits the bill. For a body plus lens, the A6000 with the kit 16-50 and 55-210 lenses go for around $800.00. Another choice for under a grand might be the Olympus OMD-EM10ii with the 14-42 and 40-150 kit lenses for $650.00.

The Pentax KP, which is reported to provide excellent images at high ISO values, is now roughly $1000.
