Does anyone own the Nikon D7100? My manual tells what SD cards are compatible, just wondering if anyone has a preference on the size and speed of the card that they use. getting ready to purchase one.

I have been using 8 & 16Gb Transcend SD cards forever. Never had an issue. You can get them reasonably priced on Amazon. Be sure to get the #10 speed. They have a lifetime guarantee.

It may really depend on whether you plan to use the video function much. I don't, so San Disk 32GB Extremes work just fine (shooting RAW.)

8 and 16 gig cards are fast enough for any one . it's only when your shooting sports or birds in flight that you may want the faster card . when your spraying and praying .

I did have a issue with a card where the remote app. used on my ipad didnot work. Called Nikon and had to switch to recommended sd cards. Worked fine after that.

Check out PNY Elite Performance 32GB SDHC cards rated at 90MB/s speed.

I use 16 and 32GB, depending on what I am shooting. I like to use RAW + JPEG, and that takes a lot of storage space. As others have said, look for a high transfer rate.

Yes, I own the camera. Recommend San Disk, minimum 16gb, class 10 if you intend to video.

The 7100 takes two of whatever you use. I chose 32GB because I planning an extended European trip and needed the space but since have purchased a laptop.

It's difficult for me to conceive a need for 32GB (times 2), so I would save a couple bucks and buy smaller chips
