SD card slots in auto

Need advice, and thanks in advance to all who know.
I am buying a new Jeep. In the center council is a USB port and an SD card slot, plus 12 volt outlet. Can I take one (probably the Jepg) SD card out of my camera and view the pictures on the 8" screen in my Jeep, or is that just for the GPS maps?
Again thanks
Duane

I'd check the Jeep's owners manual or ask at the dealer and have them show you.

The SD card slot can be used for music with your media system, in the same manner as a CD. Just burn your songs to a card and insert it. That's how my wife does it with her '14 Grand Cherokee. (starting in '14 the CD player is mounted in the console, leaving no room for much of anything else so most people, such as my wife, don't order it). The slot can also be used to upload photos for your "desktop" background but I do not believe you can setup a slideshow. As I recall, Federal regs prohibit anything like that in the driver's view. Check your manual, as already suggested by someone else.

I've often wished I could have a slideshow on my display, but there are too many lockouts for safety reasons. I can play a movie from a DVD, but the car has to be stopped, with no movement showing on the speed sensor, and the parking brake must be engaged. It's possible to bypass those features, but I would lose GPS and speed indication.

As you've read, the SD slot is good for music.
