Howdy all - Some of you know me from "General Chit-Chat" but I have never before posted anything to the "Gallery." That is because I no longer consider myself a photographer because of "low vision" problems resulting from 11 eye surgeries in a 4+ years series of head injuries and strokes.
I started out with a Kodak "Brownie" box, moved up to a brand new Ricoh 35 'S' rangefinder and then got into Canon. I still own over 240 lens and 60 bodies. I do, also own an old Hasselblad (500C) and a beautiful Alpa.
If there is anything you like about this picture of Pikes Peak with a formation of the Garden of the Gods, it is because my little Canon PowerShot A1000 IS. If you don't like it, that is my fault. This is the only digital camera that I've ever owned and probably it will stay that way; I can no longer travel.

Nice capture..
LOL I couldn't even SEE most of it, but I've lived here since the Stone Age and knew where to point the little digital. My only point was to (hopefully) show everybody Pikes Peak in the spring. I pass on your comment to the camera!
Thanks for a photo that I will never get to duplicate or see. Great job.

Red Bear, you live in a beautiful area, I would like to see more of your pictures if you can manage it. Thanks for posting.
I want to express my thanks to those of you that commented so kindly. I'll try to digitize and post some photos that were made when I could see! I didn't hit the "download" on this because I assumed that the image wouldn't hold up under closer inspection - after all I'm using an inexpensive point-to-shot. Also, I was shooting at 11:00AM (MDT) which is not a time of day that I associate with decent color reproduction.
If you have any ideas on that please let me know. :)
I like it very much, Red Bear! Hope we see more of you photos!
