I was looking at the site slrlounge.com" and noticed Tamon has announced the release of the Tamron SP 150-600mm VC USD lens with the Nikon mount. The date will be April 30th.

In Japan, expect to wait another month before you see any actual USA deliveries taking place, that's what it took for the original Canon mount models to make it here after release in Japan.

I didn't say "Pick your up on Friday." I just said "The lens would be released." In any event, people with Nikons wouldn't feel left out of the fun. MT Shooter, you could have had a few in your inventory if you hadn't cancelled. You shoot 7D, and 6D, you could have had a jump on all those Nikons.

No joke. I ordered my Canon mount around seven weeks ago, and I'm still waiting. I've now been told it could be the end of May before I see mine.

Good luck with your search.

PS. You may also want to get your name down with more than one supplier, since some outlets seem to have a better flow of product than others.

Tamron had to pull all the Canon mounts off shelves in February due to an AF issue with the 1D and 7D bodies. They have been trickling back out since the first of March, but VERY slowly, and Tamron has never said one word about why the slow return or what the problem actually was/is. Then the delay in releasing the Nikon mount too, apparently after a similar issue was found. I have lost faith in the Tamrons for now primarily because of their lack of disclosure about the issue, and because of their lack of open-ness over the Nikon and Sony mount releases. I am sticking with the Sigmas, I have sold over 20 of them since the initial release of the Tamron, lots of very happy customers actually USING their new lenses rather than wishing for one.
