Hi, I have been watching this site for about a month, but have been hesitant to jump in. But here goes... I am showing a few of my favorite shots and would like input as to whether or not I am even in the right ball park, so to speak. Do I stand a chance as a photographer?

Tow Candy, welcome to UHH. In answer to your question of course you have what it takes to be a photographer! You've already passed the biggest step and that is spelling the word "Photographer" :-) I like your pictures and as you go you will learn more of how to bring your images to life both in the way you photograph them and post processing to add that extra snap in your images. How did you get the butterflies to pose for you?lol Keep posting and reading here lots of great photographers willing to share.

Welcome, I really like the last 2. The first one is at an angle almost like it was taken that way. Nice work on the others.
Everyone has the potential to be a good photographer. I do however believe that taking a photo course...knowing your camera and of course ...shoot,shoot and shoot will get you there sooner. Many here are on a professional level but we all learn from each other. Photography is an on going learning experience.
Tow Candy, welcome. One thing is to know your camera. What it does in each setting, tv, av auto, manual. Watch what light does in your photos. You are on your way.
Welcome, and just so I know, does the Milk river run through the Oreo Forest?

Absolutely. You have an artistic eye. I would have put the nest lower in the shot and straightened out the bridge. But those are easy fixes and the more you shoot, the more you'll learn. Keep it up!

PS ... I think the butterflies are perfect.
To be honest, I wanted to see into the nest to see if there was anything in there. It was above me, and I had to reach to take the picture I got.
