Alien flowers

A couple days ago I went to the Balboa Park Botanical Gardens, San Diego, CA but it was closed. Whats a photographer to do? I found these flowers right outside which I would have over looked if the Gardens had been open. It was a perfect overcast day, my favorite type of conditions for flower photography. Canon 60D and Tamron 90mm macro, tripod.

Not usually a fan of faux filters used on images but it works well on the first two shots. Gives the photos a 50's sci-fi film feel.
