Can you override the DX mode on a D600/610? I've got one nice DX lens (17-55 2.8) and I'm pondering making a change to a D600/610.

In the Shooting Menu, one of the items is Image Area. One of those is Auto DX crop, which you can turn off. Then the camera will use the full sensor even with a DX lens (D610 manual p 91).

If I remember right, the vignetting stops at about 24mm with that lens.
