Tom Cruise's Jaw-Dropping Admission Is Scientology's Worst Nightmare

Posted by Jacqueline Burt on November 7, 2013 at 9:25 PM

Remember back in the day when those Dianetics commercials first started airing (with the volcano??) and Scientology was all crazy mysterious (as opposed to just crazy)? Or maybe you don't remember those commercials, because you're not as ancient as me. That's okay, because chances are you can still remember a time when Scientology was THE hot celeb cult religion lifestyle trend pyramid scheme whatever you want to call it, right?

Well. Ever since Tom Cruise started acting a little ... odd, the church of Xenu has been slowly losing its prestige, with secrets leaking out all over the place in the form of tell-all books and celebrity escapes and snubbed potential spouses, and the latest nail in Scientology's coffin might be the most significant yet -- especially because it was hammered in there by none other than L. Ron Hubbard's chosen one.

So, you know how we've all always, always known that Katie Holmes most likely divorced Tom Cruise to get Suri away from Scientology before she got old enough for that creepy, creepy, creepy version of 20 questions that asks people if they blew up planets and sh*t? But nobody ever confirmed it, exactly?? Well, Cruise let the truth slip while giving a (long-ass) deposition as part of his defamation suit against In Touch magazine.

Apparently lawyers asked him if Holmes divorced Cruise to “in part to protect Suri from Scientology," and that's when the Top Gun star flipped, saying, “Listen, I find that question offensive. I find it, those statements offensive. Like with any relationship, there are many different levels to it. You know, I, I find it very offensive. There is no need to protect my daughter from my religion.”

And THEN the lawyers asked, “And Ms. Holmes has never indicated in any way that was one of the reasons she left you? …To protect Suri from Scientology?”

And finally Cruise was like: “Did she say that? That was one of the assertions, yes.”

Whoa!! Let's break that down: Did she say that? So right there, we know that Tom is PISSED Katie sang like a cult-traumatized canary. (Uh-oh.) And then we have: That was one of the assertions, yes. Which is code, obviously, for: That was one of the blasphemous allegations made by my former wife who will suffer the wrath of Xenu forevermore.

WOW! I must say I'm surprised Cruise didn't deny that one with all the passion of a lovestruck couch jumper. I mean, shoot -- Scientology's PR team is gonna have to start working overtime to reverse all the recent damage!! (Either their PR team or their hit men.)

Are you surprised Tom Cruise finally admitted the truth about his divorce?
End of article

Comments;
When I saw this, I assumed that it was an article about "Scientology"; As it turns out, it's more just a short "fluff" piece about Tom Cruise.

What exactly IS "Scientology"? To start with......what it ISN'T.......is a "religion";

Secondly.....it has NOTHING "to do" with "science"!

"Scientology" was "dreamed up" by one L. Ron Hubbard; (google L. Ron Hubbard ) Hubbard wrote a book about something he called "Dianetics"; (which, IMO, can more accurately be described, as "utter nonsense", "pure bull s**t", etc. etc. )

The next question you may ask is.....why does "Scientology" seem to have such "attraction" to people such as Tom Cruise and John Travolta? A fair question, and I can only offer MY opinion, which is;

Tom Cruise; Tom is one of those inexplicable cases where a dinky little, sawed-off, "runt" somehow managed to get in movies, then somehow managed to get the lead role in "Top Gun", and he's been a "big star", (and a short, sawed-off, blithering idiot, ever since! ) Along the way, he's obviously made a "lot of bucks", and con-artists (think: L.Ron Hubbard ), have been dreaming up schemes to "separate" the blithering idiots of the world from their "bucks" ever since........(way before I arrived on "the scene" )

John Travolta; J.T. is even more of a mystery......; my first recollection of J.T. was a TV show "way back when" called (I think ) "Welcome Back Kotter"; I don't remember a whole lot about "WBK" as I don't recall ever having watched it; shortly after "Kotter", the big movie, "Grease" came out, John Travolta starred in it, and because my wife LOVES "Grease", (and has it on a DVD ), I've been "obliged" to "sit through" Grease about 200 times in the past 10 years or so. Travolta's next "biggie" was "Saturday Night Fever", his popularity went UP even higher, and because of another DVD, I've now seen "SNF" about 500 times! (As an aside, after I bought my wife an iPod Photo about 8 or 9 yrs ago, she came up with some on-line soft ware "hack", and shortly thereafter had both "Grease" and "Saturday Night Fever" on BOTH her iPod, and her little portable DVD player; ) Because she can fly free on a certain airline, she used to fly a LOT, and has probably entertained about 500 "seat-mates" with both "Grease" and SNF" on her portable DVD player and her iPod.

Somewhere along the line, John Travolta was apparently "taken in" by the schmucks at "Scientology", and as far as I know, poor J.T. is still a "Scientologist".

J.T. LOVES airplanes! I "like airplanes a lot" but due to the insufficient "depth" of my pockets, I have never gotten around to owning one. J.T.'s has much deeper pockets, so he has his very own Boeing 707, (which was the very first Jet airliner in regular commercial service in the U.S. )

I kinda like J.T. even though the poor fellow seems to have always had a terrible time trying to make up his mind whether he "prefers" girls or boys. (At least he's smart enough to have learned how to fly a B 707 ), which is more than I can say, and he's a HELL-a-va "dancer", (which is also more than I can say ), so I guess J.T. is "OK"........(even if he WAS "goofy" enough to have been "hoodwinked" by the schmucks at "Scientology".

As for Tom Cruise.........my only question is, "who needs him"? (Certainly NOT me! )

Gitzo, I hate to admit this, but I agree with about everything you said. :) Don't you remember, John Travolta played a "Sweathog" in WBK.

Your wife has fabulous taste in movies! Loved Grease, have the DVD and also SNF...and all the songs by the Bee Gees.

Great post!

Happy Easter :)

And, yet, he's a multi-millionaire and we're not.

I've never placed ANY actor on a pedestal or understood those who do.
An actor is nothing more than an entertainer. Exactly the same as a juggler, clown or dancer.
They make a living pretending to be someone they are not. In spite of public opinion this is NOT a rare talent. MANY people can do this.

I'll have to admit, I've gotten a tremendous kick out of watching both "Grease" and SNF" as many times as we have, and will no doubt watch both of them at least that many more times! (The other one she has on both gadgets is "Dirty Dancing" with Patrick Swayze.) I love all three of those movies! And the Bee Gees?......."Stayin Alive"! Yeah man! One of my all time faves! (I have it on MY iPod! )

BTW.......If you ever pick up a $5 DVD at WalMart and want to watch it on a portable DVD player........check around on the internet, and find, "Handbrake Lite"; that's all you need to get a DVD movie onto a small device.

(I also have to admit........I got a kick out of "Top Gun", but in "real life"....Tom Cruise and Val Kylmer are both, two of my "least favorite" citizens.........(If ya know what I mean )

Not disagreeing, just a minor technical fix.

SNF 1977
Grease 1978

(You can tell I'm old enough to remember...by plenty.)

When that first book by Hubbard came out, I was a fan of his science fiction and tried to read that particular series. I made it through the first one and refused to read anymore because it was such a farce and was junk....true junk. Then, when it turned into a 'religion' I couldn't believe that intelligent humans thought this was a good idea. I can see by your post I was the one in the wrong by thinking these were intelligent people. And I never did understand how they could turn such drivel into a religion. I suppose some folks need something to point them in any direction, even if it's wrong.

I'm 47 years old and I remember those commercials. In fact, it's one of my strongest memories from my childhood...must be something about the volcano.

I live in Hemet, California--about a 10 minute or so drive from Golden Era Productions--the headquarters. Curious about what it was, I started to research it.

But it was only recently, while digging around to see if I could get permission to bring a model to the grounds, that I found articles about abuse and escapes. There is also a very nice house across the street said to be sitting vacant for their founder when he comes back from the dead.

I've read all of George Carlin's books. Very funny! I couldn't stop laughing though when I read Hubbard's Dianetics. It's an absolute scream.

Thanks for the "heads up" on that, Dave! I'll have ti have "a talk" with my chief "consultant"! (My wife! )

I may have have gotten them mixed up myself, but I was thinking that she told me that Grease came before SNF.
In any event, old J.T. must have done pretty well on both of them.........flying a B 707 can get pretty pricey!

I went to college in Boston and the creepy Scientologists would approach you on the street and start asking you about your life - did you have friends? Was everything as good as it should be? Did you have any problems? (What 20-year old has a perfect life?). Then telling you that there was a way to make your life better - just come to listen to a talk. Anyone with half a brain heard little bells ringing and a little voice whispering in their ear saying "run away - it's a creepy cult!! The recruits have to take many classes on their way to the top level of "clear", and the classes cost hundreds of dollars - but they get steep discounts for every victim/recruit they get to come to an orientation talk. Run. Run away!

Whats the betting on TC's and JT's preferred cameras ? Nikon or Canon and why ? We know JT prefers a breitling watch - does TC have a Rolex or Timex?

I don't see the big deal in Tom's "admission." It's Katie who doesn't like the "religion." If Tom had said he didn't like scientology, that would be a big deal.

Very often, the headline is more interesting than the article.
