A wren or not?

I got these pictures this morning in the willows. We are in Nevada. My guess is a wren but I am not sure, just going by the beak. Thanks for your help.

It would depend on the size, wrens are tiny, but that's certainly what it looks like to me.

This bird was quite small. And didn't sit on one branch for any length of time. Thanks for looking.

That would explain the wing band, I had never seen one without the red crown. Must be a female?

The red crown often isn't seen, unless they're aroused. But you're right, only the male has the crown.

Thank you very much. I am extremely grateful for the knowledgeable people on this forum. I am sure it would take me forever to figure out what I am photographing. I know nothing about birds except that they do not sit still very long.

Definitely a Ruby Crowned Kinglet....the white around the eye is key to the ID....btw, there is no way to tell if the bird is male or female as the male does not always show his ruby crown.....nice images.... :thumbup:
