Just for fun...

Of all the equipment you've owned in your lifetime, pick the one that was your favorite. P&S, Plate, Film, Digital, whatever. Which one, when you looked through the viewfinder was the most satisfying? Forget the post-processing, be it darkroom or photoshop.

Mine? Nikon's Nikkormat Ftn with the 50mm 1.8. I had everything set on the way up to my eye. Just a final re-focus and it was there. DOF and SS were sub-conscious and automatic; pinky on the speed, ring finger on the aperture ring, index finger focusing. I've kinda lost that feel, but I'm working on it.

I think it would have to be my first SLR. It was a Konica T3 that my brother brought back from Japan on leave. It was a big old heavy beast, bit the controls were just where they needed to be, and the viewfinder was big, bright, and gorgeous. The glass was excellent, too... just not as appreciated as Nikon or Pentax back in the day.

The Nikon D800E with my 70x200 lens are my favorite pieces of equipment. The JPEGs are okay (I never use them) but the NEF files are GREAT for PP.

My D7100 is the most fun. Digital is far less expensive than film so I can fire away not concerning myself with the costs.

The D800, easily, probably with the 300mm f/2.8 lens. Bright, sharp, and I get different photos than everyone else gets. :-)

Can I pick Two? The best photos I got, I think, was with my 35mm Miranda SLR film camera with a 50mm Sologar and 135mm sologar lens. My second best was my Nikon F2S film camera with a 50mm Nikor lens and a 70- 210mm VivitarII lens. Now in the Digital age I use a Canon 60D and a Canon 6D. The 6D I really like.

Same here, only it was an Asahi Pentax Auto 110. It was my first SLR/ILC and it was a 4/3 format camera back in 1981. Now I'm back to using those lenses on a micro four thirds camera.

The big, beautiful and crystal clear EVF on my Olympus EM1, especially when using some of the excellent old legacy lenses with manual focus. It is so very different an experience, but so pretty. I can watch an ant walk across a leaf on a dandelion on the other side of the road

That would be the first Minolta auto focus camera - can't remember the model - coupled with Nikkor X lenses. It was a great SLR and the lenses were superb.
