I have no idea how long this guy was there by my feet as I was cooking on the grill, in shorts and barefoot no less. The meat got a little more done than it might have if I hadn't noticed him.

We had company all afternoon and there was a lot of traffic through the sliding door to the backyard. He was about 3' away from the door and a foot away from where I step to get to the grill, hiding behind a big conch shell. We had a two year old and a six year old that were in and out pretty much constantly all afternoon. As noted, I have no idea at all how long he was there before I noticed something odd, my guess is that he was there all day or possibly under the barbeque until I took the cover off. Scary to think what could have happened if one of the kids spotted him first. I got him to crawl up on a rake and carried him to the edge of the lawn and flipped him over the fence. I noticed several people walking their dogs and decided maybe he and we would be safer elsewhere so called animal control. He just got comfy and waited for his ride to get here. I think he was cold, he was moving pretty slow. I'm probably never going to walk up to that barbeque the same again, such a nice quiet place to snooze.

I'd still be thanking my lucky stars if I were you. So glad no one got a snakebite!

I know, right? Bad enough with the little kids here but worse, it could have been me. Of course now that the opportunity is gone I wish I would have spent more time and gotten more/better photos.

Great shots Casnap, glad to see you had the presence of mind to snap the pictures before you removed the little critter. Very glad to hear no one was hurt. :-D
