Anybody have experience with the new way in which Adobe delivers PS?
I have CS5 and I need to upgrade to handle the new NEF's from my 610. There are no upgrades for CS5. I do most of my PPing Camera Raw and when I convert to Tiff from NX2 I can't access the camera profiles or Auto WB adjustments.
I'd switch to something else but its the old dog new tricks syndrome.
TIA
You should be able to get CS6 and LR5 from Adobe Creative Cloud for $10.00 per month. Many of us like it but there are some that resent it. I happen to like it.

Actually it is CC the CS# series is dead.
So what happens?
Do I download the program then it updates? Or do I work on line all the time?
I'm not big on having my stuff in some mythical cloud somewhere. (Old dog again which is humorous since I used to be the guy always pushing the envelop)

The only thing that is important to you is ACR, upgrade that and you are fine.
As to keeping your stuff on a cloud? I do not. I save my stuff locally, backup the 'stuff' locally. The only advantages offered by Adobe at the moment are an attractive price and a liberal upgrade policy*.
You do not have to work on line all the time, that is a myth. On the other hand your PC/laptop/Mac needs to connect once a month to internet to keep the license current. That connection will also allow for the software update, if available.
You can install the software in MORE THAN TWO computers as long as they are not used concurrently and no more than two have an active license. (I have PS CC + LR5 installed in two PCs and one laptop. The second PC is a fully configured backup machine that is off but for one day a month to update all the software installed from OS to applications).
The only uncertainty is what happens when the initial subscription runs out. This is why I keep my CS6 up to date.

Thanks. You've been most helpful.
Hi Toolking,
I upgraded to the downloadable PS CC when it was originally offered for $10.00 per month. I've been very happy with it and figure the price is right (for me anyway). Take care & ...
I too signed on for the $10 a month and wish I had done it sooner.

Lots of conflicting feelings about PS CC it seems. Just yesterday I read an Ugly Hedgehog thread regarding some problems with it. I have had a few minor problems but have learned to work around them, mostly by re-installing when things don't work. It really isn't that bad. But to discuss just the advantages, I am new to digital pp and am blown away with the advances of the new version over CS4. I love it. Its a new era and I am thrilled to be in it.
I also resonate with the advice to stay with your old PS and use the newest version of Lightroom for RAW work. It is phenomenal.

CS6? Works for my D800.
PSE 12 and my D610  Also LR 5
When there is an upgrade, Adobe lets you know. You download it, and it installs itself. I have had no problems, running a Mac Powerbook SSD.
Is it possible to install PSC6 on both my Imac and macbook at the same price?

Again, are you talking about CS6 or the new subscription CC? Like the CS series, you can install CC on 2 separate computers simultaneously.
Yes it will be a new subscription CS6, I am venturing into photo shop for the first tyme, on two separate computers, I would also like to put it on my iPad but that is pushing it..
Thanx,
George
