Has anyone out there used an extended viewfinder or an extended LCD? I just wondered if any of these products are just junk or if they can truly help your photographic experience. Especially those with eyeglasses can use all the help they can get. Any suggestions will be well received. Thanks in advance !!

Yes. I bought the viewfinder eyepiece extender for a canon t3i. It helps with wearing glasses and also to keep my nose off of the LCD. Definitely worth it.

I'm not sure of what you mean by extended, but here goes anyway.

I wear glasses but never when shooting. I'm nearsighted and depend on the diopter adjustment. As Calden said I like an extender (Nikon DK-23, about 5 bucks) to keep my nose off the LCD. It also helps block out light. There are also some with bigger eyecups for glasses wearers.

I frequently use a Nikon DG-2 2X viewfinder magnifier ($60)
for better focusing then it flips out of the way for full view.

For tripod mounted, especially if the camera is low, I use the Seagull right angle viewfinder ($50). It has 1X or 2.5X magnification. It's as good as the Nikon $195 version.

I don't shoot video but if I did I would have a Hoodman loupe for LCD viewing ($80). Blocks out light and I think would be steadier and more comfortable than trying to hold the camera steady at arm's length.
