I have only used point and shoot cameras. I found this site and have been devouring it over the past couple of months. I sit up until 1 or 2 AM reading, taking notes and laughing. The last camera I used was an olympus FE 4000, the latch broke, got another camera at Christmas(great sale), few more features Sony Cyber ShotDSC W570. Its just enough different that its confusing. As I read your posts I think I should have up graded to something in between point and shoot and a DSLR . I like taking pics of things outdoor/flowers, butterflies/garden and my grandsons. I've been married 39 years and my husband thinks its funny that I have started this at this time in my life. lol .I will definately be back, when I get the courage to share. You guys and gals are great!!!

Welcome Debbie. I was going to make the same point about Grandma Moses, not to disparage your age or anything, but I don't think there's a limit on age when it comes to starting a new career or hobby. He's just 'jellyous' 'cause he didn't think of it first.

Welcome, Debbie, the camera don't make the photos. My daughter and I made a pinhole camera when she was a kid. She got some pretty good shots with it. Can't wait to see your images.

LMAO - He won't think its funny when your $50 shoes becomes $600 lens. Also if you really get into it he will think you care more about your camera than you do him. LOL you just might. Anyway, have fun. Regardless of your level of expertise or in my case, none, have fun and don't be afraid to shoot out of your comfort zone. With the exception of smut anything can make a good photo.

Hello from Western PA. I'm guessing you already know what this site is about, so pull up a chair and join the crowd.
