Finally! Some Cardinals.
All of last year I have been trying to get some good shots of cardinals. It seems that every time I had a chance at a good photo of a Cardinal, I did not have a camera in hand.
Sunday while visiting my daughter, I was standing outside and saw all sorts of cardinals. The only problem was that they hid themselves in a thick row of brush, hedge, and trees that runs along side of her house. It also was very overcast for the most part.
I did the best I could. Focusing was tough. These are not all that good but here are the results.

Wow! you.re up late. Thank you by the way.
LOL yeah I am ... at this point I'm not exactly sure if I'm up late or just early today. The good thing is I can nap anytime of the day :) so it doesn't matter that much.

I love the second one. Her wings are kind of hanging straight down as though she is relaxing

Thank you. I bet she was hoping to relax. There were a myriad of birds in the brush that day. Blue Jays, Cardinals, Woodpeckers. Finches; all of them very skittish and would not get into the open. The only ones that were not shy were the sparrows and wrens. It was funny, I had a wide open shot of sparrows on the ground, so I took a few. All blurry. I should have manually focused because the camera was picking up on the gravel by my feet. That'll teach me!
This was what I was fighting.
Heavy brush

Hint---Bird seed/Feeders. If you want a more natural look, try smearing peanut butter & bird seed on a limb (in the open) Doesn't take them long to find food. Actually, I thought these were pretty good.

Nice captures. I have them in my yard every day. Feed them and they will come back.
