I have Adobe PS 7.0, says nothing about any other edition, so I assume it's very old. The problem is, "I don't know"..then there was UHH!
I found a photographer with the, "Look", I want (earlier topic), and don't want to buy before I know what I have...make sense?
Ohsoposhphotography.....so awesome and wonderful instructional videos. A must see!
I don't know what, home base, I have, if that makes sense. Anybody that can tell me what this version of Photoshop is, can I upgrade, ect.?
I really want this...
This is the look I want, of course, plus more! lol

Photoshop 7 was 2002, I think. Current version is CS5.5. PS is expensive! A version that old, I'm certain that there isn't a upgrade to a current version.

Are you asking if her actions will work with your version of PS 7? It looks like they will work with PS CS 2-5 or PSE 6-10. So I would think you would need a different version. If her actions work with PSE, I would go with that since it is a lot less expensive. Hope this answer is relevant to your question! :)

I wouldn't waste my money on it .... If it's free then great .. but if you are thinking of buying it ... I'd look at Photoshop Elements 10 .... That version of photoshop is way outdated and doesn't do a lot of the things that you are seeing people do now ...

I use Photoshop Version 8 at home. I have access to CS4 and CS5....with the exception of the warp tool everything i have and need that is on Version 8 is duplicated on CS4/5....In other words, Version 7 will give you lots of tools and probably more than you really need.....you like the look - i say go for it.

It is very difficult to decode your post. :-)

What are you asking? Photoshop 7? It is 9 years old.

I went to the site and it is great photography, but if anyone thinks buying software and some Photoshop actions will make their work look like hers.....

Her images start out with perfect images to start with. Her lighting, posing, composition, expression and all that stuff is extremely well done.

There are tons of photographers out there selling actions and presets that promise to transform your photography. It seldom happens that way. Investing in hands-on training might be a better place to spend.

But this is all just my opinion.

Hi Cindy!
I concur with CaptainC. There is no one "magic" button to push for great photography. Once a great photo is created, there may be a magic button to improve on it, but that button is surrounded by hundreds of other buttons, and you need to know which is the right one to push!
If there were a nice, simple way to great photography there would be a line of people waiting to get in...you'd probably have to pitch a tent just to stay in line!
Luckily, the long, arduous trek along the path of learning is marked with wonderful experiences that will make your life, and learning process, very rewarding.
Happy photographing!

crudasill: I also have Photoshop 7 and it is from 2002 but I am hard pressed to spend $699 for Photoshop CS5 as I contacted Adobe and that is what it would take dollar wise to get PS CS5 as there is no upgrade path for our copies of PS7 to CS5. I find out just recently I don't know anywhere near as much about PS 7 as I thought I did!! I believe we have almost everything we need in PS 7 if we just take the time to learn it. It is very, very powerful but also pretty complicated to learn w/o some type of education from a source that knows the software and the potential it has. I learning every day! If you have the funds and feel you need CS5, go for it, but I personally think it is way more software than the majority of us will ever be able to actually utilize. Dave- Ricontech

I still use PS 7 at home and PS5 at the office. PS7 gives a photographer everything he/she needs to correct/fix/enhance one's photos and then some - (should you want to explore the "painter" in you). You can do almost everything in 7 that happens in CS5, it just will take a little more of your time. The current CS5 upgrade generally just added more enhanced animation capabilities that 7 does not have - for example, adding a filter effect over a series of pictures, non-destructive "smart" filters (which started in CS3 I believe) and other such time saving options like "smart fill". Additionally, the suite has integration between other Adobe products that allow you to switch programs from inside each other. If you want to learn if PS is right for you, then grab 7, pickup some used tutorials at your local 2nd hand bookstore and don't look back. What you learn there will not be a waste of time. You can always invest in Adobe's current products later. (Adobe would just love that - they certainly are a prime example of reselling the treasure map each year with their upgrades). If you are looking for good photo enhancement options, then Elements would do the trick.
As the others here have mentioned, composition, lighting, etc. will always be first in capturing a good, even great picture. PS should be considers as a tool in one's arsenal, but don't necessarily expect miracles. I remember buying my first pair of "Air Jordan's" quite a few years back, and darn if I don't know why, I still couldn't jump any higher. ;)

Sidenote... (ok, 1 more thing)... Although I haven't used it myself, a few of my friends love Adobes Lightroom and don't use anything else. Might want to give it a look. Cheers!

Do I need Photoshop to add Elements 10, or is Elements 10 a separate photoshoping product?

Photoshop Elements 10 is out now and I've seen it for $50 at Costco....You don't need the full Photoshop CS5 or CS6....all you need to get started is Photoshop Elements 10 to be up to date....

I had a copy of Photoshop 6 that I was able to upgrade to CS2 a while ago. I'd guess you could still get a discount on an upgrade.

Crudasill. Costco has Elements 10 for $89 and recently was selling it for $50 off that so I got it for $39 - WOW. PS Elements 7 is very good but laso very old. It does not recognize RAW files for instance. It is just old tecnology. I have PS Element 4,5,6,7,8 not 9 and now 10. Me I like the latsest. Will PS Elements 7 do a good job of course. It all depends on what you like and how much but Costco can't be ebat for price and you can get it sent if there is not one near you. Just go to costco.com. Hey you're very pretty too!!!!!
