Like this series, Bushido, with the windows and fire escapes very much.
Went to the Jewish Museum of Maine last week in Maine's oldest synagogue. Very interesting. Found a prayer shawl which would be worn by a Rabbi - it was just folded on an old table. And some more pix from Mackworth Island.

Stairs from the trail on Mackworth leading down to ocean edge
One of many benches
This is all natural color and reflection. One of my favorites from the Island

Well, the sun did shine yesterday evening - so went for a walk at Instow Beach with friend and dog.... She loves playing in the sea!
Pat all observant Jews wear a prayer shawl...there is a Tallit (prayer shawl) and also the Tallit katan...a fringed garment used under clothing by men and boys everyday. The Hebrew noun tzitzit [tsiˈtsit] (Hebrew: ציצית‎) (Biblical, Middle Eastern, and Western European(Sephardic)) pronunciation: tzitzit or ṣiṣit; Eastern European(Ashkenazic) and Yiddish pronunciation: tzitzis; Yemenite pronunciation: ṣiṣith) is the name for specially knotted ritual fringes worn by observant Jews. Tzitzit are attached to the four corners of the tallit (prayer shawl) and tallit katan (everyday undergarment).
The reform Jews usually do not wear a Tallit or don't have to according to their different beliefs...a married man wears a full prayer shawl that encloses him completely and he receives it upon his wedding day and will be buried in it.

Tomorrow is Palm Sunday ...in Catholic traditions here in Alaska particularly, and in the Eastern Churches like Russian Orthodox crosses are made out of the Palms...they are hung up at the Eastern wall of the home or at the prayer center and the week before Ash Wednesday are taken to the church and burned to be used for Ashes on ash wednesday...here are my crosses and my daughters we went to mass tonight instead of tomorrow...
