Was just playing with high ISO the other evening at our photo club meeting with my 6D. The first shot was at 25,600 ISO and printed out very well at 4x6. The second was at 6,400. They both turned out better then I expected. Lens was a EF35mm f/1.4 L.

I'm impressed. Still not switching from Nikon but I'm definitely impressed.

Agree with Indi - I'm VERY impressed; doubtful I'll ever leave Nikon, though. Excellent results.

Good examples how far technology has come in reducing noise at high ISO's. I have a 6D also - great camera.

Those were shot with the High ISO Noise Reduction feature at factory default, which is medium.

These are terrific shots illustrating a very highly capable low-light/low-noise camera body with some sweet glass attached. Nice results!

The 2nd photo is the one that impressed me the most . I bought a canon 7D a couple of years ago , and I'm not sure I could get such good contrast from the bright sky to the dark areas of the back of the buildings without using a good amount of the shadow slider in camera raw and not show noise . But to be fair to myself , I don't own any lenses with that low of light , since I mostly shoot nature and landscapes ... Tommy

It was shot at f/8.

Actually, at f4 it would have been shot to almost "daylight" conditions, with 3 stops less noise! That's quite amazing at f8 since even there it looks very good.

Thank You. Never heard of Topaz DeNoise. Is it strictly for reducing noise or does it have other capabilities?
