What an interesting photo!! I love all the expressions and the styles of that era. And the history is so interesting too. Great job on all the dust and scratches HT. I've done many of these from our old family photos and really enjoy doing this kind of work. Some are really hard to bring back.

OK, here is my final version for the section provided and my final copy of the full photo. The only thing I could not correct was the light flare on the far right of the photo.

For those of you that are interested, my grandfather is the third gentleman from the right on the bottom/first row of the full photo

I am interested and thank you... As far as the flare, it gives it time period character...
Would you have objection with me sharing this Photo online? If you do I fully understand.... I just have such a love for photos like this...

Excellent SoHillGuy. When I did my edits a couple of years ago, I was just learning PSE 9 or 10. I really knew nothing about noise reduction or sharpening. Now that I have seen yours, I guess I will have to go back and do some extra work. Thank you. The only thing I used was a mouse, the clone tool, and healing brush. Of course at that time there was no "content aware" on the tools either

I actually like what you have done on your edits better than what I did. I like the softness of yours over my sharpening.
You have become proficient with the tools you are using, so I'm sure you will expand with you editing.
Sometimes content aware is useful, and other times it just doesn't work, and your still left to do other editing. I did not use it in my edit of your picture.
I had the most problem with the second fellow from the left with his cap (hat), and the lapel on his coat. I see you did a fine job on those areas.

I tried several different things with that lapel. Finally I copied the other lapel, flipped the image and pasted on the coat. Thank you for your comments and edits

Here's my attempt on the damaged emulsion area. I didn't do any of the dust and scratches filters, I was just trying to get the worst part first.

I agree with some of the previous comments about really enjoying looking at the faces, the personalities.

Thanks for letting us give it a try.

Excellent restoration, thank you for your work. Yes, I would not expect anyone to go through all the dust marks etc. It was a lot of work
