Focus point adjustment and BBF on Nikon

Thanks everyone for all the information I have gathered here on the forum. I prefer to use BBF but on many Nikon DSLRs, the multi-selector is used to move the focus point to the area of interest while composing. Is this a case where I am stuck with focusing with the shutter release and using my thumb to move the focus point, or is there a way to BBF and adjust the focus point efficiently without growing another thumb? Thanks for your help

I've only been using BBF for a couple of months, and I haven't had a problem moving the focus point and then using the AF-ON button to activate autofocus.

I believe you can still press down the shutter button half way and move the focus point.

Thank you HEART. Interesting article. I'll try some of the pointers suggested and keep working at it.

Thanks Amehta. Often, I want to quickly shift the focus point in the frame and shoot and I wondered how others accomplished this. I'll keep practicing! Thanks

Thanks Pixelpixie88. It seems I'll just have to choose between using my thumb for BBF and shifting focus, or giving it only one thing to do while using the dual action of the shutter. Thanks again.

I believe part of the "BBF mode" is turning off AF activation when pressing the shutter release.

Yes, turns off activation for taking a picture. But, you still press the shutter button half way to then move the focus point using your thumb on the arrow or cursor pad.

Yes, the link goes to my photos. Took a photo workshop in Grand Marais last Fall. Love the area! Thanks for looking.
