Not much makes me any more upset than to see a flag flying in complete tatters for no good reason. That is what I saw flying over this Wal-Mart store. I started by calling the store and got a succession of some rather rude people who couldn't have cared less about their flag. I demanded it be changed on the spot, was basically laughed at. It took me over an hour and finally got in touch with Wal-Mart headquarters in Bentonville Arkansas. Luckly the person there believed me when I told them that I was prepared to stay there for however long it took and would let the whole world know about this disrespectful display. An hour and forty five minutes later the flag was changed.

wrr and Judy. Be blessed. I'd have been right there with you too! I am one of those who automatically tears up when I see one of our flags coming toward me in a parade. I just can't help it. Many of my family members served this flag and all came home safe and sound but the last. The last one brought home a brand new flag. He was the sweetest step brother in the world, 23 years old and his flag covered his casket. His name is found in the #51 square on "the wall".

Very Happy you took a stand and this is a beautiful picture. Thanks.

I had a similar incident with Wal-Mart. However, the manager of the store took immediate action and replaced the flag. That was six or seven years ago and I've never seen a tattered flag at that store again!!

That had to be a site to see. the flag looks huge. Great shot.

I love all the pictures. I think it is enjoyable taking US flag pictures as each provides a different feeling. This one was at a Blue Angels show and the skydiver was on his small reserve chute (his main canopy failed) flying the 5000 sq. foot flag.

This was taken just before the 4th of July. It was my first trip there, and a very sobering experience.
