Anyone having experience with the Nikon NX-D Software ? I Have recently down loaded same and would like to hear thoughts and ideas regarding this software and is it worthwhile ? Thanx Maxsilcam

I downloaded it right after it was offered as a trial. I find it totally disappointing and practically useless compared to Capture NX 2. It has just a few simple features over View NX and that's about it. I have sent my comments to NIKON telling them this is a bad move on their part.

A disaster in my opinion.
- No U-point technology (color & selection control points).
- Does not show edited version of NEF Raw files done previously in Capture NX2
- Separate "Sidecar" editing files as opposed to NX2 which kept editing embedded in NEF file

NX2 still works but will not be supported for new cameras or operating systems. Forces a switch to Lightroom, Aperture or ? assuming Nikon does not fix NX-D
