I shoot a Canon 7D with a battery pack using Canon Lithium batteries. Before recharging the batteries should one wait until they are nearlly completely discharged or does it hurt to recharge them when only half (+ or -) remains. They used to say if you don't let them run down before recharging the batteries will develop a memory.
No need to wait. Charge them whenever you like. Li-Ion batteries don't have the memory problems of older technology batteries.
I have a Canon Power Shot SX30 IS and my battery (rechargeable lithium NB-7L) and I recharge mine when it depletes as indicated on my camera. It has lasted 3 years so far but I also have 2 more back-up batteries.
Good to know.
