The Canon 20D was and still is a capable camera. I have added a full frame Canon 5D 11. When I bought lenses for the 20 D I bought full frame lenses. If you think you may get a full frame camera in the future you should consider getting a full frame lens. It will work with the 20 D and if you do get a full frame camera will be fine.
Keep the 20D it is always nice to have a camera that can be taken out w/o the worry you will likely have with a new one. The resale value on the 20D is little, better to keep it.

All the magic of photography depends on the lens. The camera body is only bells and whistles. The bells and whistles can be FUN as long as you can afford them. The bells and whistles can allow you to more easily tailor your shot but they will NOT make you a better photographer.
I agree with you. If you're happy with the body you have then stick with it.
It is AMAZING how many people want to use their camera, instead of their photos, to impress others.

I just want to make good photo's that is my whole reason for even considering any upgrade are asking for opinions. I had an out of the box factory hunting rifle that cost me 350.00 and a 200.00 scope and out shot a friend of mine who was using a 2500.00 setup. The camera does not make the photographer, the photographer's eyes, gut instincts, God given talents and learned techniques along with trial and error make him a photographer. At least this is my thinking. :)

Small point of contention..... Canon is spelled with one "N" in the middle. Like most, I would stick with the 20d and buy good glass. Cheers.

I agree---I have a 30D and 50D and have purchased several lenses. However I am kicking around a Canon 7D --just because I have extra lenses!!!
