D610 Bundle

Hi folks,
I'm considering moving up to a full frame Nikon. Adorama and Amazon are currently offering a D610 bundled with these lenses:
AF-S NIKKOR 24-85mm f/3.5-4.5G ED VR
AF-S VR Zoom-NIKKOR 70-300mm f/4-5.6G IF ED
My question is, does anybody have hands on, day-to-day experience with these lenses? and if so, are they any good or are they your basic kit lenses?
I have read several reviews, but I would rather hear from people that use them regularly rather than just lab tests.

I have the same kit. You will love the 24-85mmVR. It is exceptionally sharp for "any" zoom and it is always on my camera. Nikon developed it for the D600 and you will get great images with it. I personally love the lens and I'm sure you will too. The 70-300mmVR is also quite a good lens and will do a great job for you. With those two lenses you are off to a great start.
ENJOY!

Having used the AF-S VR Zoom-NIKKOR 70-300mm f/4-5.6G on a D3100, I'd suggest looking for a D610 body only and some of Nikon's better lenses. The range is nice as is the VR. The regular Nikon users will add better input than my limited experience, but I think you should be looking at lenses from the Nikon line with fixed apertures and higher ratings. Going with the full frame, I'd also go with one of Nikon's 50 (ish) primes and a zoom on either the wide end or the long end depending on my personal interests.

CHG Canon, don't you think you are comparing "apples to oranges" by comparing results done by a D3100(with the 70-300) which is a crop sensor ENTRY level camera to results achievable from a full frame body like a D600 with the same lens. Actually you may have been better off on a DX camera with the 55-300mmVR DX'

I've had that kit lens with my D600 for a little over a year now. I think it's a very good lens, versatile, not too heavy. Photos are crisp and bright. I'm sure the higher priced Nikon zooms and primes might be sharper, but you won't be disappointed.

Thanks for the input. What really got me thinking about stepping up was when the DF came out. Man, that is one beautiful camera. :) I haven't decided yet which way to go. I really like the DF and was considering buying one when I came upon this D610 package, and while the DF has all of the features that I want and none that I don't (i.e video), from what I have been reading, the 610 is a better camera and I can get it along with a couple of lenses, either bundled or pick out different lenses and buy them a la carte for about the same price as the DF body only.

Decisions, decisions.

bought the same package a year and a half. very happy with both lenses. unless you shoot in low light and need 2.8 glass there's not a whole lot of difference in image quality

Well, after much soul searching and internal debate, I have decided to hold off a bit more on a new camera and be content with my D7000. I took it out shooting today and went through many if the images that I have taken with it and it occurred to me that I don't really need a new camera, I already have a great one, with plenty of glass to keep it interesting (12 lenses, about evenly split between DX and FX). I think what finally stayed my hand was when I thought "well if I can afford a D610 or a DF, why not get a D800, or a D800e?" That's when it started getting silly  I think that common sense has kicked in and that my G.A.S. is in remission, at least for a little while. ;)
