Old photos from the early 1930's....

For the age of these photos, I can't believe how clear they are..

Enjoy

Great! I'm sure the negatives were very large. I don't think that stove and stove pipe in the classroom would be allowed today.

Yes and no. You can save them, but the only way I know to do it is to do a print screen and save them that way. Of course you can always save the link.

Hello Morris

Yes these photos may be saved to any hard drive or other media using only your computers OS.

On the far right side of the photo you will see a link called 'persistent URL', click on this link, the photo will re-open in another view. This photo can now be saved, right click the photo and you will see an option called 'save image as'. Just click here and tell it where to go.......GEE never did figure out how to do that with my wife.

Jerry

There is a TON of stuff in all of those photos that OSHA would have had a ball with today, but in those days the TVA saved a nation and did it under budget and on time, and gave jobs and training to MANY people.

Thanks, I didn't realize that. I found that I could email them to myself and then save them. Saving them either way reduces their size to about 500 px on the long side.

Thanks Jerry

I have never gotten around to looking for the dam, so thanks....

Also, up in your neck of the woods is a 17,000 acre camp called 'Ten Mile River' (TMR). It's a Boy Scout Camp that was built by an outfit called CCC. I think the camp was built just after WWI to create jobs during the late 1920's/early 1930's. It's located just East of Narrowsburg, NY just off hwy 97. Google TMR Scout Camp, they have several Web Pages about the history of the camp. I lived/worked there in the early 1970's.

morris, If you're using a PC, yes, you can save a copy Right click on the picture then select the size you want right click and choose, save picture. Mine ends up in my picture folder. Note: copy right pictures will not allow you to do this. These great B&Ws however will.
