Two short sentences worth pondering and sadly true.
1. We are advised to not judge ALL Muslims by the actions of a few lunatics, but we are encouraged to judge All Gun Owners by the actions of a few lunatics. Funny how that works.
And heres another one worth considering.
2. Seems we constantly hear about how Social Security is going to run out of money. How come we never hear about Welfare running out of money? What's interesting is the first group worked for their money, but the second didn't.

Re point 1. Maybe it's because over 30,000 Americans die every year directly because of guns and many more indirectly. Trying to trivialise numbers of that order by attributing them all to a 'a few lunatics' is disingenuous at best.

Rather than saying 'because of guns' I should have said people with firearms. Just on the odd chance someone is going to be picky.

Wonder how many die each year because of radical Islam? Do you have that data? A couple additional questions: I am interested in the statistics you have on "many more indirectly". What is that number and how does someone have an "indirect" gun death? Not saying it does not happen I would just like to know how it happens. Can you help me with that? Since 2/3 of all gun deaths in the US are intentionally self inflicted (suicide), then what percentage of the remaining 1/3 are gang related or criminal on criminal violence? Do you have that data? Here is a hint, the number is significant.
Right on, can't get better than that.
