Does anyone use one of these? Which model and what size (small, med or large) is best?

I have two. One medium (wired) and one small (wireless). I like the small wireless best. I use an iMac and a MacBook Pro. They work great...

So the small is big enough to do what you want to do. Which model do you have?

Usually bigger is better but for what I do I have always liked the small Wacoms. The smaller the tablet the less you have to move your hand to exact the same effect as you would on the larger models. I use a windows companion as my main drawing tool now, my older Intuos5 is now religated to remote duty.

For simply touch though the medium intuos with the wifi adapter is perfect to control a htpc from anywhere in the livingroom. Plus its harder to lose than that sneaky remote.

I got one for my son (the Bamboo), but he's never used it, so I think I'll give it a try. I watched a good video about that yesterday. I'll see if I can find it.

EDIT: This is what I watched yesterday, but it seems to offer a lot.

I own two, the first one I have is about 10 yrs old and small - about a 4x5" screen, recieved an Intuos working screen size of approx 5.5x8.5" screen. I LOVE using them for extensive Post Processing and all around playing around. Once you use one you WILL have fun and see the easability of editing.

I got a small Intuos 3 wired graphics tablet by Wacom. I got it reconditioned for under $30. Wacom still supports it and provides software and drivers for it to be used on all the newer Windows operating systems.

I am an enthusiast photog only. Not pro in any way. I have a very old wired, small Bamboo but it works GREAT on my Macbook Air. Be aware, though, that there is a HUGE learning curve with these things. I thought I would just plug in and start painting, but there is a big disconnect in dexterity, and takes a definite acquired skill level. Just because you give a person the best canvas, brushes and paints doesn't make one a Rembrandt, if you get my point. Still, with some practice it is fun and useful.

I have tried the Medium and Small and prefer the small. I use them wired (USB) as I hate having to worry about batteries. Plus the wireless costs nominally more.

It seems that the small is easier for me to be accurate with the brushes in masks etc.

Not only do I use a small Intuos 5, I have it remapped so that I only use 1/4 of the tablet surface. Most professional I know remap their Wacoms in this way. Remapping is done in the software preferences and allows wrist movements versus big arm movements.

Any Intuos can be remapped so if you already have the large you are not out of luck. The question really becomes why would anyone want more bulk to carry around.

Check your preference jerry. You can also map it so that you tablet movement only effect a small portion of the screen. I don't know why anyone would do that.

Going to try this, though I am not sure I understand. I might have to do a search or get back to you for more explanation. Thanx!
