Best PSE 12 book

I just upgraded from PSE 10 to 12. I never really mastered 10, but want to change all of that. I use utube quite a bit, but there is something to be said for having a book that you can follow step by step.

So is there anyone who is familiar with both "Photoshop Elements 12 The Missing Manual" by Brundage and "The Photoshop Elements 12 Book" by Kelby and Kloskowski.

If you use both books, I'd be really interested to know which one you find more complete and easear to learn from.

If there is some other PSE 12 book that you think is just fantastic, I'd love to know as well.

First, I have used Elements since Version 1, and I currently use Version 11. I would upgrade every couple of versions, and when I did I would check out both The Missing Manual and the Kelby/Kloskowski book for that version. Hands down, I would always choose the Kelby. I actually still have six versions of the Kelby. The two-to-three page tutorials for each item are easy to follow and much less daunting than the Missing Manual chapters.

Hope this helps!

I have used PSE every other version now using PSE 12. Over those several years, I have used one or the other of the books you reference with each version. I would give the nod to the Kelby books. Easy to use with clear explanations on things you want to be able to do most often. Don't forget to purchase whichever you choose from Amazon at a discount.

Thanks Beowuf,

That's exactly the type of response I was hoping for.

Thanks Frank,

I was hoping to get some incite from someone like you having experience with both books.

I have the Kelby book for PSE11 and it is a great book to help one learn the program. I am very happy with it and strongly recommend it.

I had Missing Manual when I used PSE 6 and, although it has a lot of information, it was nothing like as good for learning to use the program. It probably had more sheer facts, but they were not so easy to find and it was not nearly as useful to me.
