This is a photo I shot at Bryce Canyon (a photographer's dream place!). I like the perspective it gives, as the people going down into the wall canyon get smaller and smaller, showing exactly how immense and foreboding the canyon is. I also like how the walls of the canyon provide a natural frame for the shot.
No post-processing. Details: Nikon 1 J1, 1 Nikkor VR 10-30mm f/3.5-5.6, shot at 10mm ISO 100, f/4.5 - 1/640.

Indeed! Many people don't realize that you're at some 8,000 feet -- and the air is thinner. When I'm in canyon country, I always allow myself at least twice the time to get back up from the time it takes me to get down. :)
