I just bought a Tokina 11-16mm 2.8 lens. I intend to use it primarily for landscape photography. I will use the lens on a Nikon D7000 most of the time and on a D200 occasionally. I read some great reviews on the lens before I purchased it. I was wondering if anyone else has used this lens on the D7000 or D200? Does this lens need to be focus calibrated on the D7000? Any suggestions or advice will be helpful. I'm going out to put the lens through some paces this weekend (weather permitting) with the D7000. I hope I find it to be as sweet as the reviews I've read.

Been using one for the past week to shoot flowers with D7100 and D800 if that helps.

It holds up to its reviews and the only complaint I have is that it only auto-focuses down to 4".

I can't think of any way to check back focus with any equipment i have.

I use this lens on my D7000 regularly and love it. I haven't noticed any focus calibration issues at all. Hope this helps. Let us know how it does for you.

I use the lens occasionally on my D7000 and it works fine. The lens is usually in focus from about 3-5 ft. to infinity. Very sharp.

I have this lens and it spends a considerable time on my D7100. I have not noticed any focus problems. The on issue is flare when shooting into the Sun.

When I had a D7000, I had that lens and liked it. No problems with focusing or anything else.

Great shots kwbybee. I myself just purchased this lens for my D7000. The shots are fantastic and exactly the type I was hoping for when I start shooting with this lens. Can't wait to start! Thanks

Used the combo for a couple years and loved it. Very sharp and no focus issues that I saw. Lens did have some slight flare as mentioned, but I found it to be a minor issue. Here's a shot right into the sun with only one small spot. Actually, the sunburst that this lens creates is quite unique and pleasing. The lens cap is cheaply made and falls off a lot. I recommend picking up a Nikon replacement cap - worked much better on mine & they're under $10 on ebay. Enjoy

Actually , the flare I have experienced is quite a bit worse. I wonder if sensor dust can contribute to interesting flare circles.

D200 does not support calibration. I have the lens used on D200 & D7100 with excellent results from both.
