Good Morning Everyone. Thank God It's Friday!
My plans for today are airplanes. Air Force One to be exact.
I can hardly wait for sunrise. It's only 4:30 am here in the desert so I have a couple hours to wait before I go to the base. In the meantime let's get this party started. I can't wait to see what y'all post today :)

Good Luck I sure hope you catch one ... Yesterday on the way back from the Lake ... the hubby was hauling butt down the freeway ... I was thinking to myself I should take a shot of the freeway sign ... but I didn't .. as we got a bit closer I noticed something sitting on it. As we flew by I noticed it was a redtailed hawk .. I totally missed the shot because by the time I realized what it was and the shock of actually seeing one wore off we were right next to it -- less than 10 ft away and no time to move the camera.

My experience yesterday was sorta similar - just seeing a hawk, anyway. I was coming back to work, from lunch & driving up on the ramp to the 4lanes I see TWO RedTail Hawks! So bummed because I'm driving, not a good time to pull out a camera & take a pic (even though I have done it before- just not on a busy road.) not really anyplace to pull over - dont wanna take a chance on getting hit just trying to capture the hawks BUT it made me sick. I have never seen two flying around - even though I see hawks all the time. They were beautiful! the sun was hitting them so pretty - ugh. (maybe next time) ;)

When I lived in Illinois I was forever seeing them sitting on the wires ... but not so much here in the south.... maybe I just need to look up more lol.

here is one of many I have taken this morning. I was shooting a male Cardinal but it wasnt quite light enough where he was at, so my pics aren't very good. Plus I'm taking them from inside, thru glass, which doesnt help either. But just my luck, a barge coming down river - (which was in the sun)

Like MissStephie I tried/did shoot Mr. Cardinal today, but he was "antsy" and didn't like to sit for a portrait! But here is Mrs. (taken through our bird feeder window.) Making myself use my rear converter. That's a challenge for me. Snow showers here this morning.

Well it's a retired one so it's probably closer to Air Force Seven LOL

It is a magnifying lens that attaches to the body and then the lens you are using attaches to it Body>Converter>Lens. Mine is a 2X converter meaning it doubles the Focal Length of the lens attached. Everything has to be done manually when using it. If you "google" rear converter, it would tell you lots more :)
