I have an old metal body Nikon FM2 film camera with a Nikon 50 mm lens. Id like to sell it. Is there even anybody who would be interested in this, or is this just an old camera that I should just hang on to? It's in great condition, but of course it is totally obsolete. I also have some Vivitar lenses. If the camera is sellable, where would I sell it and for how much?
Click on "Create new topic" at the top of a page. Scroll down and you'll see a "Buy, sell, trade" section. Also KEH is a good company but you'll get a better selling directly to an individual. Also ebay is a good choice. I've bought and sold many cameras there.

Where are you located? Any fungus on the lens? Is the FM2 black or chrome? If black, does it show brassing? If possible, could you post a picture of the camera with the film back open?
I have some interest.
Feel free to PM me.

Obsolete, My A__!...
Obsolete is your thinking.
There is still film available.
There is still processing available
The camera will still shoot images equal to any good DSLR.
I've been selling film camera's on eBay for close to ten years. The money has been good. Look at the "sold" listings posted above sold on eBay. A nice FM2 in working condition is very saleable.
KEH is still selling such camera's for good money, after low balling people with your thinking on their purchase prices.
The Nikkor lens can still be used manual focus on Nikon DSLR's with F mount, as can the majority of Nikkor lenses. There is one exception but I can't recall what that is for Nikon.
Just shot 24 well exposed, sharp focus images yesterday with a Minolta Maxxum 600si, and had them back in prints and on CD, plus the negatives, in one hour processed at Walgreens.

I have a Nikon M90 with a 50mm lens in imaculate condition. I received it from a friend and i loaded it up with a new battery, some B&W film and was surprised at the excellent shots i got. I developed the film have yet to print any.Should get to that this weekend.
I had a guy offer 50 bucks for it but i will hang onto it for awhile.I think what has kept it in such excellent condition is the leather case.I have no other Nikons to swap out lenses and such. That mite be a factor on how long I keep it. Maybe you could swap it for something if it is unsaleable.

Me too. I have a twin lens reflex & a foldout Kodak Tourister using 120Film. All inexcellent shape and are fun to fool with.Still keep my Canon EOS3 & ElanIIe and use them too. Someday I mite trade them in & prbly get maybe 100bucks for all ! LOL A big investment back in the day but still fun stuff. If I ever shut down the darkroom I dump it all to whoever can use it.

I'm down to two film cameras and a darkroom that's boxed up right now after moving. I've got a Canon EOS 650 and a Mamiya 654 1000's. I plan on using the 645 for B/W when the darkroom gets set up. Which means I may never use it.
