D7000's available NOW

I was in Best Buy today. They have been sold out of D7000's since Black Friday. But they had ONE in the display case. The salesgirl told me they just got 2 in by FedEx this morning and one is gone already. Seems their distribution warehouse found a whole pallet of them mislabeled as D5100's and have allocated 2 units per store, selling at $1399 WITH the 18-105mm kit lens!

That's a good price for camera and lens, but when will the D7100 be available?

That's the problem with frequent camera updates. When rumors start about a new model, sales of the current model decline. Eventually, prices drop enough to make the older model a good choice. Afterall, the D7000 isn't going to get any worse when the D7100 comes out. It will still be a great camera. (I have to keep telling myself that.)

Nikon Just officially announced the new D4 yesterday, so its possible the D7100 is getting close. I will be keeping my D7000 no matter what, its the D90 that will be getting replaced for me.

I think a D4 would be great but it's a little out of my price range. I'm still waiting for the D400 or maybe the D800 to come out... Not that I have a problem with my D300. :) Plus who knows how long it will take me to save up AND convince my wife.

I am waiting for the D7100 to come out. I want something with controls closer to my D7000 so I don't get confused as to which one I have at my eye! LOL

Will the D7100 be a step up from the D90? Is the D7100 Full Frame? I was under the impression that the next step up from the D90 would be the D300s.

And free classes too! That's how I got hooked on photography. They not only sell you the product but invite you to come to Ritz University to get to know your camera and what a great choice you just made in your purchase.
